WHO WE ARE
is a space for capturing data and information that can support spatial planning processes. Each Blueprint for Sustainability is dynamic and unique at the same time, presenting research, crowd-sourced, and public data on marine and coastal ecosystems and dynamics, in order to contribute towards transparency and a better understanding of these natural resources.
Blueprints for Sustainability is an initiative developed by the Gulf of California Marine Program with support from the Helmsley Charitable Trust.
We aim to facilitate access to spatial scientific data and information through a free and open source platform, in order to promote transparency and a deeper understanding of the coastal and marine ecosystems around the world, which will in turn contribute to improved management and conservation strategies.
Access to sound and reliable scientific information through effective communication tools promotes transparency and facilitates the understanding of coastal and marine ecosystems. This understanding and the use of science for the development of sound and sustainable management and conservation strategies leads to more equitable, prosperous, and sustainable communities, and healthy ecosystems for future generations.
